Extreme Makeover

Well, maybe not so “extreme”, but here are some changes in the pink house since we got here.

First, as you can see, Joseph’s plant is recovering robustly since its scorch on the way over here.

Second, the endless sanding and staining of the porch is over!

Third, Nicole has successfully killed the grass and turned the soil over for a vegetable garden next spring.  The grass inside the planter (that Joseph built) is winter rye, which will help prepare the soil for spring planting by adding nutrients and structure.

Joseph has built a three-sectioned compost bin.  Nearby. we may put a chicken coop next year.

As you can see, the children’s rooms are all set up.  However, we need to take their summer clothes down to the basement soon and bring up their winter clothes.  Sigh.

See our big refrigerator!  Praise the Lord.  Our kitchen is big and active, complete with dehydrator!

Our bedroom has cool beams.  Reminds me of Shakespeare for some reason.

Our guest room is ready for guests!  It is also where Nicole sees her  homebirth clients.

Our dining room has cool pictures from an old Sign Language book.  It is the Lord’s Prayer.  We have been wanting to frame that since the condo in San Diego I  think!
